04 July 2014

There is an ongoing shelling of Fallujah and its environs since yesterday evening and through noontime today. Intermittent but fierce battle have been taking place in Al-Garma, northeast of Fallujah. A preliminary count in Fallujah today shows that 4 citizens have been killed and 9 were wounded, raising the overall totals in the city to 512 killed and 2,892 wounded.

In Anbar's western regions, the big police directorate in the town center of Ana was blown up by gunmen.

A security source has announced that air raids targeted the gathering of a number of gunmen from the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant in a house or a public place in Al-Qa'im. Yesterday air bombardment targeted areas along the boundary between Nineveh and Anbar governorates. We do not yet have any casualty reports regarding that operation.

There is a curfew in the western Anbar region, and there no nighttime Ramadan observances. Citizens are afraid, and furthermore there are shortages of food and domestic requirements for Ramadan.

Obviously, most Anbaris are praying for safety and security in their governorate in particular and throughout the other governorates.
